Our infant classroom ranges in ages from 3 to 18 months
Infants in their truest form have a natural quest for knowledge. Given the chance, they want to learn and thrive. Spectrum Montessori at Woodbury provides just that opportunity to explore life in a peaceful, unpressured environment. Our gentle guidance brings out the innate curiosity of each young child. The result is pure learning, with no obstacles.
New concepts are introduced at the right moment of developmental readiness, a time that Maria Montessori named the “Sensitive Period.” Just as a parent nurtures their newborn, we create the ideal atmosphere in an unconditional, positive manner where learning thrives.
Offered at our Woodbury campus, our infant program is for children from 3 months to 18 months of age. Your baby is kept comfortable and content throughout the day. The environment is soothing and happy, with soft music playing and smiling faces. We communicate with the babies constantly by signing, talking, singing, reading and simply playing with them with hands on sensory activities. We tailor feedings, diaper changes and naps according to the individual need of each child.
Daily activities include:
- Movement and Exercise
- Language and Sound Development
- Poems and Songs
- Recognition of Objects
- Non-Verbal Communication
- Interaction with other babies
- Finger Plays
- Arts & Crafts
- Outdoor Play
Our sensitive, caring teachers are tuned in to each child’s uniqueness and individual needs. Our school is a place where new discoveries are joyously made every day. Spectrum Montessori at Woodbury offers all of this, and more. Simply stated, early childcare is our expertise. By the end of this program, your infant will be well prepared for advancement to the Toddler classroom.
